Absolutely man, that second stat is the one that says it all. Too many guys like Long, Idah, Hendrick playing with a premier league team but getting very little actual game time. I remember when all our team were first team regulars with Premier League teams or old First division back in the 90s. That was a golden age of Irish football.

The talent pool is much more diluted now, with rugby becoming increasingly popular with youngsters and then you have Hurling and Gaelic football competing for players too. The positive thing is that our current boss Kenny has the players trying to play proper build from the back football and after a rocky start they are starting to gel a bit now. Kenny previously did great things with Irish club Dundalk even guiding them to the Group stages of the Europa league, which is a rarity in Irish football.

I am quitely confident for the coming years, where I think we will over achieve with pretty average players, but then again I'm an eternal optimist!
