1) What have I done in November
Truth be told, not a whole lot. November tends to be a quiet enough month typically a sort of calm before the storm of over indulgence which December typically brings. One thing I did do thanks to my lovely wife was get a night away in a really nice hotel in the midlands of Ireland. It was a gift for my birthday and not only did she arrange a kid free weekend away for us, but she also organised for two of my friends to go golfing with me at the Heritage.
That day and night away was definitely a November highlight. Work was really busy, so that took up a lot of time and the weather was pretty middling for November, so we got out for plenty of walks as a family, which was great.
What are your plans for December and the new year?
December is all about family and friends. I'm really looking forward to spending December in Galway this year, as we couldn't travel last year due to Covid-19 restrictions, but this year, we are already in Galway and the majority of my family live close by, so we will come up with some good safe ways to meet up together as a family.
The excitement is building by the hour for Santa's visit 🎅 and the elves on the shelf are getting up to all sorts of Shenigans.
We are looking forward to catching up with friends also, as many people come home for Christmas from far flung places like Australia, Canada, London and Athlone! I'm really looking forward to a few good catch up sessions.
December and Christmas come at a great time in my opinion, as once the excitement of the festive season has ended and we all go back to work in early January, the shortest day of the year is in the rear view mirror and we can start to look forward to brighter longer days and Spring wont be long coming around.
How's 2021 treated you so far?
In a word, busy. It has also been a wonderfully rewarding year as we finally made the big move back West to Galway. Our three boys changed schools, joined new sports teams and made new friends and we both transferred our jobs down to Galway.
We've beem making our new house a home little by little since we moved in back in July 2021, so it's been busy busy and go go go to be honest, but we wouldn't change it for anything and its so nice to be only a short 5 minute drive to my parents house and the house that I grew up in.
