Good night hive friends
IN 1873 Dutch troops carried out an attack on Acehnese fighters at the location of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, Banda Aceh (formerly known as Koeta Radja) which was led directly by the warlord, Major General J.H.R Kohler.
In a disproportionate battle, Acehnese fighters armed with sharpened bamboo were able to defend the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque from the struggle of Dutch soldiers and were even able to repulse Dutch troops from Aceh and one of their warlords named JHR Kohler died in battle on April 14, 1873 as written in a monuments.
To commemorate the history of this location, a monument has been built as evidence of an invasion by Dutch troops against Acehnese fighters so that future generations will not be blind to the history of the past so that it can be a lesson in the future.
We always hope that future generations will be able to maintain lasting peace relations, no more wars in any part of the world so that we can live side by side with each other.
Thus a brief history of the attack on the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque by Dutch troops led by Major General J.H.R Kohler
Peace regards
