About the Sunderban
In the coastal areas, a large forest in the coastal region is one of the natural worlds and natural wonders of the Bay of Bengal. These unique forests spread across the Padma, Meghna and Brahmaputra rivers, Khunna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Bangladesh and South 24 Parganas, Delta region of 24 Parganas district of India. The Sundarbans is the world's largest coastal wetland mangrove area, Forest 2 (3,900 sq mi) of 10,000 km, of which 6,000 km2 (2300 square miles) and 4,000 kilometers (2,500 sq mi) are located in India. Bangladeshi and Indian parts of the Sundarbans, when the adjacent parts of the uninterrupted land are listed separately in the UNESCO World Heritage List: respectively, as the Sundarbans and the Sundarbans National Park. Both parts were counted as Ramsar sites
