Over the past few weeks, a lot of new accounts have been registered with the Steem Blockchain. Christmas, SBD price, and more visibility in general could be some of the reasons for this. And long may it continue!
However, with the increase in new accounts, a couple of other things are also on the rise:
The difficulty in being noticed
Identity theft
As a new user, or indeed someone who's been around the Block(chain) for a while, you can kill two birds with one stone and introduce yourself via a dtube video.
Last week an account registered called @hollyhenry - The name of an up and coming singer/songwriter. To cut the story short, I investigated her Boo-Tube account and emailed her promotion company, just to confirm if this was indeed the 'Holly Henry'.
As you can see in the image below, our suspicions turned out to be true:
I hope the real Holly Henry doesn't have a potty mouth!
If you do plan to promote yourself as part of your content, why not introduce yourself with a short video?
There are lot of people curating 'dtube' content, and the 'introduceyourself' tag, and so you will gain extra visibility, and put aside any doubts that curators may have when choosing to give you the 'welcome' up-vote.
This to me is a great way of throwing yourself into the spotlight, and you are sure to get extra votes from curators who are confident you are who you say/show you are.
So, what are you waiting for?! I look forward to seeing and up-voting your dtube videos.
If you choose to upload a video and use 'dtubeintro' as a tag, i'll come and pay you a visit for sure!
Cheers
