Hello everyone, so I’ve been making big projects for a while now and then I decided to switch it down a little. My brother bought a humidifier but he wanted a coaster for it. Conveniently for me, I’ve already made up my mind to steal that humidifier so I agreed to make the coaster for it. (What are siblings for)

I spent about an hour on the coaster. It wasn’t even difficult. I chose the tulip design because as I said I have plans of using the humidifier myself so tulip for a princess. It’s really simple and I recommend it for beginners.

The materials I used;
• leftover yarn
• 1.60mm crochet hook

I started by making the base. I remember last week, a crocheter here taught me how to make a perfect base so I tried it.
I started with a magic circle and then I made 12 half double crochets in the magic circle.
The second row was two double crochet in each stitch and then the third row was one double crochet in the first stitch and 2 double crochet in the second stitch till the row ended.
The third row was made with half double crochet in the first two stitches and the two half double crochet in the third stitch till the row ended.

The fourth row, I made half double crochet in
first three stitches and 2 half double crochet in fourth stitch.
The fifth row, I made half double crochet in first four stitches and 2 half double crochet in the fifth stitch.

I then moved on to the tulips which turned out to be fun to make. I made the sepals first by using the green yarn to make a double crochet, a chain and a double crochet in the same stitch. I skipped two stitches and then repeated the same till the end of the row.

For the petals, I made 5 double crochet in the space created by the chain and then passed the hook through the first double crochet to pull the yarn from the last double crochet to give it the bending effect.
I repeated this till I was done with the petals.

It was fun making this knowing that I will make that humidifier mine in these coming days but in the meantime, my brother can enjoy “my humidifier”. All in all I love this coaster, maybe I’ll try a bigger one for something bigger. Thank you for your time.
