I had an emergency travel from where I was to another place which made me pause my sewing lessons.When I came to where I am currently,it happened that one of my cousins owned a local bar.It’s a local bar that travels to provide services at occasions,be it wedding ceremonies,funerals, or birthday parties.I have seen many people do this and honestly wished I could learn the setting up and everything. I was very certain about asking her to teach me but wasnt sure she was going to because she’s a very busy person.
Fortunately, she had been booked for a wedding ceremony and according to the conversations she was having with my other cousin, they were about to do a couple of set ups at home so they choose the best for the ceremony.I was so excited because that was my wish coming true.I was in my room when I overheard their conversation but within some seconds I found myself in their midst(who is flash?).It was actually very late and normally I would definitely choose my goodnight sleep over anything else (except a car ride with my dad) but I knew what I wanted.I knew this time I had to sacrifice some sleep for this wish to come true.
I underrated the whole thing.In my head, it looked so simple and we were just going to spend about an hour to set up and then I finally go to sleep.
Ladies and Gentlemen,after what seemed like two years and eternity later we were still laying the table cloth. “What at all is this and who even sent me” were the thoughts I was getting at that time.
Two hours to lay common cloth on table?,and you’d be surprised the steps you’d have to go through to even lay the cloth.Not that I was going to give up but the rant was necessary.
We did about three set ups and she then chose the one she wanted.I got to finally learn how to set up the local bar and she’s planning to teach me how to make the local drinks as well.It was actually fun in the end and we finished around 3am the next day. I’m so happy I didn’t let go of this opportunity.Currently,I’m part of her team because she liked my ideas and felt I would be a huge asset to the team. I wanted to learn a skill but I landed an occasional job,exciting right?
I’m so glad it has been just about 27 days into the year and I’m ticking off goals on my list with speed.Never let go of any opportunity you might come across this year, as you really never know where it could send you.
