Hello everyone, I am so excited to share my work for the first time here.

I’ve been crocheting for four years and it’s always exciting when you see your work come out as you expected.
I would like share a bell sleeve crochet top I made. It took me three days to finish this project.I am a fast crocheter and it takes me 2 to 5 days to finish my works.

Materials used for this work;

  • 10 balls of 40g yarns
  • 2.25mm crochet hook
  • a measuring tape

I made this top because I saw a similar one online that I wanted to purchase but unfortunately for me it got sold out by the time I was ready. That is exactly what I like about being able to crochet, you can equally make your own clothes.

I started by drawing a sketch and choosing which pattern I wanted to use.I used granny stitch, double crochet and slip stitch for this work.

I like drawing sketches of what I want to make because it keeps me motivated to see that I have brought something on paper to life.

A
As seen on the sketch, I started making the A part. I made a base chain of 15cm which is about half my bust. I am a size small so you can choose according to your size.
For the granny stitch, I made a double crochet, 3 double crochets in the next hole, skipped 2 chains and made 3 double crochets in third hole.

I repeated this till the end of the chain and then turned over to repeat this till the full A part was done.

I made two of the A parts for the front and back. I then slip stitched the shoulders together as well as the sides leaving space at each side for the sleeves.

B
For the B part, I attched new yarn at the armpit side and started repeating the granny stitch all over till I reached 14cm where I started increasing to make the bell shape.
I made the increment in even numbers starting from 4. I introduced a granny stitch on top of every fourth granny stitch for the first row of the increment.I continued the normal pattern for the next 4 rows and then introduced a granny stitch on top of every sixth granny stitch and then continued the normal pattern for the next 6 rows.I kept on increasing till I reached my desirable length which was 5cm, making a total of 19cm for the full length.

I repeated the same for the other hand and eventually finished the work.

I enjoyed making this top and I even became more excited as to how it turned. I plan on making more tops and dresses and will definitely share it with everyone here.
Thank you for your time and I hope your enjoyed it too.
