Tortoise beetle or tortoiseshell beetles belong to the leaf beetle family, Chrysomelidae a subfamily of the leaf beetles. This beetle may vary in color, but I mostly find the one with orange and yellow that sometimes showed up around the grass. If we look closely, this beetle somewhat looks like a turtle with a wide shell cover its back. I again found it when I had a little stroll around the grassland, near my home. This time I used a DSLR instead of a smartphone as the way to shoot this beautiful creature from distance. By the time I came here, it was still steady which allowed me to freely take shots. So, here are some pics of the tortoise beetle that I took with DSLR a few days ago.
