The V-2 (German: Vergeltungswaffe 2) means V-2, the first ballistic missile and the first man-made device to reach Earth's orbit. The V-2 is the basis on which all modern rockets, including the Saturn 5, were built. During the Second World War, the German army fired more than 3,000 V-2 missiles on Allied forces, killing more than 7,250 civilians and military personnel. read more
