Migraine

The disease is more afflicted by women. Migraine is a disease that attacks the brain and results in pain both physically and emotionally. The dilation of blood vessels in the brain and inflammation is one of the reasons why the head ache. Although not known for certain causes, generally this disease is a disease that is lowered.
All that can be done is to try to prevent the onset of headaches and reduce the pain when an attack occurs. Sometimes the attack not only attacks one side of the head but attacks both sides of the head.
Before the pulse attacks the head, usually the patient will experience symptoms such as seeing the light flickering or commonly called a duel, see dark spots, wavy, see objects become smaller, sensitive to vision and sound or tingling in the hands and feet. Emotionally, signs can be experienced such as anxiety, irritability, or stress. These symptoms are not always certain because each migraine sufferer may experience different symptoms.

Migraine triggers

One way to avoid migraine attacks is to know what causes the attack. So it is important to know the triggers that can cause migraine attacks. Avoiding triggers means increasing the likelihood of getting a migraine. Some of the triggers of migraine include:

• Changes in the hormone estrogen
The hormone estrogen that many found in women can trigger migraine. Especially when the amount of estrogens is unstable, for example before and during the menstrual period, during pregnancy, use of contraceptives or if undergoing hormone therapy.

• Stimulation of the body's senses
Light that is too bright, too loud a voice, or a particular smell that is very sting like the smell of perfume and cigarette smoke can be a trigger.

• Changes in the weather
Extreme or uncertain weather changes and changes in air pressure can be a trigger for migraines.

• Unusual sleep schedule
If your sleep patterns are not as usual. For example, a short period of sleep and even sleep too long can make you experience migraine. If you are just traveling, jet lag can also be the cause.

• Fatigue
Exercising or performing more severe physical activity than usual can increase the likelihood of migraine.

• Food and Drink
The content contained in food and drink can be a trigger. Alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine or caffeine content contained in coffee should be avoided. Consuming chocolate, old cheeses, foods that contain lots of MSG or preservatives is also a trigger migraine.
The triggers shown above are some common triggers, but no guarantee is a trigger of your migraines because the migraine triggers in each person can be different. To be able to find out what triggers your migraines, make notes about when migraines strike, what you eat or drink, what activities are done before you experience a migraine. Records are created every time a migraine attacks. By analyzing the records, it is expected to know what triggers your migraine.

•Prevent migraine
No doubt, one of the causes of migraine is due to a heavy mind. For that, try to calm your mind. Relax your mind, for example by doing your hobby, gardening, listening to music or other activities that are fun for you.
In addition to the mind, physically also need to get exercise to stay in top shape, exercise regularly should be a thing that can not be forgotten. Preferred sports should be exercise with mild physical activity, such as walking, aerobics, or cycling.
A good sleep pattern will support your health and prevent migraines from attacking you. Sleep should be in sufficient time, sleep duration for adults should be 6-8 hours a day. If possible, sleep and wake up at the same time each day.
If you are currently undergoing hormone therapy, you should discuss this with your doctor to be given a solution. This is because migraine can also be caused by changes in the hormone estrogen.

Treat Migraine
The first step that can be done when migraines attack is to try to relax and calm the mind. Sleep in a quiet and dark place while trying to relax. You can put ice that has been wrapped in a cloth to put on the back of the head. Then do a gentle massage on the head.
If you have frequent migraines, you should consult a doctor to get the right treatment. In addition, the examination is also useful to know for sure whether the headache that you experience is a migraine or other headache because sometimes, other head diseases show symptoms similar to migraine.
