Black owls with red brows
Stooping greedily at U-turns
And city corners,
Filling out gallons of particulars,
Just to get notes with
Their counterparts' portrait—
Pool tax in disguise
They are self agents of loot
Whose banks are their boot
And pockets are deeper than the Atlantic.
They hush at the sight of
A law-literate, yet after the
Rigmarole continues.
Extortionists with law permits,
Robbers on uniform.
