That night Alashie, Xavier, and Xalissa met up with the other members of their crew at an old warehouse near the Detroit river. Aries, the oldest of the group, bought the place with his military earnings. He lived around the corner with his little brother Jelun and their ailing father. For all the military bearing and strategic thinking Aries possessed Jelun was the exact opposite. Everyone knew each other from the neighborhood and business had been good the entire 2 years they had been together. Aries saw Alashie's mechanical talent and the rest was, as they say, history. Xavier had a plan to take this history to the next level.
"How much can we make?" Jelun asked
"A fully loaded ground transport with shields, guns, and an EMP or something could easily go for I don't know.....30-40 thou"
"30 thousand credits? Hǎo jiāhuo. That buys a lot of boots." Xalissa said looking off into space.
"What's wrong with Alashie?" Aries observed
Xavier smacked his lips. " She don't like the idea of smashing a Federation spot."
"She isn't wrong. It is a much bigger risk than we've taken in the past. The Federation doesn't play about security. Even during peacetime. We get caught we never see the outside of a cell again. Xa, you're positive you have clientele when we pull this off? We can't afford to sit on this shit."
Jelun walked over to where Alashie was busy at work under the hood of a hover transport. "I know how you feel about the Federation with ya dad and all but don't worry Kawaii I'll protect you," he said as he laid his hand on her back ever so gently.
Alashie came from under the hood at blinding speed "First off, you don't know shit about my father! she yelled. Then in a calm voice she added," And the next time you feel brave enough to touch me or call me cutie I'll shove this here plasma torch up your dickhole and hit this. Alashie turned the torch on high bringing the two-foot beam 6 inches from Jelun's mid section.
"He ain't never gonna stop trying to hit that." Xalissa chuckled.
"Hey, Alashie. I get where you're coming from with the reluctance but you have to admit its one hell of an opportunity. Can you do what you need to?" Aries says in his no-nonsense tone.
Alashie sighs. "Getting us in won't be a problem and I have no idea what's in there but breaking it down shouldn't be a big deal. We're gonna be rushed. I don't like being rushed."
"Mami just firewall the security feeds and we should have at least 45 minutes. The whole system is running on the same wave signature so its a one stop shop if you go in at like 817 hertz with that mini satellite thingy. If we pick a spot out here in the bottoms the patrols are always at least 20% slower to respond. Not to mention these Feds spread so thin nowadays the spots in the barrio have like no security. Let's get paid.". Everyone stares at Xalissa. "What? Ya'll act like a Biǎo zi can't say some intelligent shit.
"Xa we don't even know where we smashing. What the mierda are you talking about?" Xavier asks his twin
"All the Fed stations run on the same wave sigs Xa. No matter where we hit it's pretty much the same." Xalissa answered.
" I think we should be cautious." Aries said nodding his head. "The details of getting in may be the same like Xa said but there is a difference in between smashing a sub station and smashing an armory. Let's not get ahead of ourselves."
"What you got in mind?" Xavier asked.
"Well I looked over those plans you brought me. There's a small substation off 6 mile and Outer Drive that looks like it'll make a good first smash." Aries answered.
"Hell yeah! They barely even patrol over there! Ó, mā de, wǒmen yào fācái. It's on the outskirts too." Xalissa throws in.
"Sounds good. Let's vote. Who's with?" Aries says decicevely. One by one everyone's hand goes up leaving Alashie slowly looking from person to person. She hangs her head and shakes it.
"Fuck" she whispers to herself.
