I'm Aaron Howdle, an illustrator, working mainly in pen and ink. I have a penchant for Airships and love creating fantasy worlds.
I created this flying city for couture, Italian, handbag maker Fontana Milano 1915.
It was drawn using Rotring Isograph technical drawing pens.
The drawing was created in several layers (see below, under the video) and then composited, it was originally supposed to have a parallax effect applied to it. In the end a different creative direction was taken. probably because the website it was designed for, would have been harder to navigate.
Fontana's agency made an animation with my drawings instead. I am really pleased with the results!
