The other day, I bought 3 Swap Steem on Hive-engine in order to easily keep track of the price. If there is a token I want to keep track of, I usually buy a small amount so it will show up on the top of my Hive-engine wallet.
Right away, I couldn't help but notice that Steem is outperforming Hive. Sure, Steem is only slightly above the Hive price, but I believe it's worth investigating for several reasons. First of all, the Steem price graph is growing upwards while the Hive graph slowly pushes downwards. Secondly, the SBD price is insane compared to the HBD price.I'd also like to explore if this is organic or some kind of rigged, inorganic pump to make people switch to Tron. Could it be possible that Steem is just doing better than Hive because it's more centralized?
Let's take a look.
Each Steem token is selling for around 1.5 Hive each. This is what got me snooping around. Next I checked the Steem price graph to see how the overall Steem price was trending.
You can see that the Steem price has been trending upwards over the past few months, although very slowly. Let's compare this to the Hive price graph for the same time period.
You can see that the Hive price graph {above} is showing a slow drop in price over the past few months. Of course, this does NOT translate into Steem being a better blockchain or token. It is a short snapshot into the overall history of the 2 blockchains. Then again, some people say past prices are the best indication of future prices.
Things really went off the rails when i checked on the price of SBD.
Wow! SBD is worth over twice the value of HBD?! How could this be? This is the type of thing Hive users should be speculating about. The first thing I'd like to note is that there is a larger gap between Steem and SBD than between Hive and HBD. Could this be a sign of rigging from Justin Sun {aka non organic}? Could this possibly be from the success of Dapps on the Steem blockchain?
Such a big gap between SBD and Steem raises questions. How organic is the positive Steem growth? Is Jsun pumping SBD to onboard people into TRON? Or is Steem just organically growing faster than Hive?
I found a really interesting token yesterday linked to Steem that is very professional. It suggests there could be organic growth. Of course this does not mean that I support or invest in Steem, or that I like Justin Sun ... rather I want to be unbiased in my search for why SBD is so high in price.
This site is very nice ... dare I say it is MUCH more professional than any starting portal for the Hive chain. Could this be a representation of organic growth on the Steem blockchain or is this just a nice website?
Seeing such a nice website with a solid dev team begs the question, is Steem doing better because it's more centralized?! There is still the question of why there is such a large gap between SBD and Steem. I suppose one would have to study the fork code and see if there is something physically driving SBD to be twice the price of HBD.
The problem is it's hard to prove Justin Sun or whomever isn't pumping SBD. It's easy to do anonymously. This could be a weird long game plan to trick people into joining Tron because Hive is falling behind in value. A lot of people speculated Jsun would hybridize Steem and Tron together, which he did. Could SBD pumps be a part of this plan?
