Hello Lensy users! 馃榾馃帴 Some of you might have seen my photography at https://lensy.io/a1-shroom-spores I take pictures on a manual 35mm camera. Sometimes I also use toy cameras like 35mm fisheye camera and a few other types.
Some people say it's unrealistic to use film cameras.
Film photography "looks better" to me although that's very subjective. I certainly enjoy the process and I grew up learning about film, light leaks, development, double exposures Etc.
I started out with a toy fisheye camera my friend loaned me. I bought some 35mm film with my grocery store job. I remember for some reason I took the metro bus to this weird area of town you could walk right next to the train tracks because my friend took "cool" pictures of some train tracks.
Then I moved onto a more professional 35mm with a nice manual lens.
Anyways: The point is I broke my camera finally and I need to buy a new one. I did some research today for a new 35mm camera.
I searched for a few hours. I looked for a small, cheap 35mm camera that took great pictures and had a nice lens. I decided on the SMENA 8M 35mm! A great Vintage Russian camera!
This camera is the perfect combination of cheap but well made. The camera looks like you could crush it by stepping on it. At the same time, it has a very nice body {that's what she said} a nice lens etc. And most importantly it takes very nice pictures.

The shutter is not connected to the film advance. That means you can do double exposures and long ones.
The camera has a manual aperture with the following f stops: f/4, f/5.6, f/8, f/11, and f/16.
Smena 8M has the following shutter speeds 1/250, 1/125, 1/60, 1/30, 1/15, and "B." The B setting leaves the shutter speed open for as long as you hold it down.
