Sheriff

President Donald Trump has pardoned former Maricopa County, Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio, who was awaiting sentencing after being convicted of contempt for targeting illegal immigrants.

The basis for his conviction was that, as a state law enforcement agency, his office had no authority to act upon federal immigration laws.

Begging the question: where is the rage when local law enforcement is used to arrest and seize property whilst enforcing federal marijuana laws within states where it is legal?

At the very least, should we not be able to expect a degree of consistency from those who choose to bring about progressivism/globalism?

Sheriff Arpaio was the  last of a breed. From a time when "to serve and protect" was a  statement of pride. When law enforcement was looked upon with reverence and conducted themselves accordingly.  A time when applying 70 percent of your resources toward enforcement in areas that produced 70 percent of the crime was considered good solid police work, rather than an act of racial profiling.

In this instance I'd say,  a political pardon is appropriate for a political conviction.

It's a brave new world my friends...

End.
