Windows: How To Pool Mine ZCash ZEC Coins on Suprnova.cc with your CPU and nheqminer

zcashwindowsTHUMB2small

This is How to Mine ZCash ZEC Coins on Suprnova.cc mining pool using nheqminer by nicehash. This is not renting your rig for someone else to mine using nicehash, it is using their miner program to mine on your own through the suprnova mining pool.

Note that ZCash is still in testnet until Oct. 28th 2016 and until then you can only mine test coins which hold no value and will be reset on the 28th.

However, It is worth creating your account now and preparing your systems/rigs to mine ZCash now so that you are ready for the Genesis Block launch on the 28th.

I am using Windows 10, but this miner should also work in Windows 7, 8 and 8.1

Use these intructions as a guide, and watch the video below to see exactly how to get started mining ZCash today.

  1. Create an account and worker.

    Register and login at https://www.zec.suprnova.com
Create a worker that will be used by the miner to login.

  2. Download the miner.

Download the Windows Version of the Nicehash Miner with Suprnova support.
    Download here: https://github.com/ocminer/nheqminer/releases

  3. Extract and Configure your miner.

Once extracted open a termainal command prompt windows from the nheqminer folder and run the following command:

Example Command to mine with suprnova.cc, using 6 threads:
"nheqminer_x64_AVX.exe -l zec.suprnova.cc:2142 -u username.workername -p x-t 6"

  • Change the number after t to how many threads you want to mine with. If you have a 4 core, 8 threaded processor it is recommended to mine with 6 threads @ 75% CPU utilization.
  • change username and workername to your accounts username and worker names
  • put your worker password between the -p and x-t (like -p mypassword x-t)
