A new month means a new @yourtop3 contest! This time we're picking our top 3 Least Favorite Movies!

Before I get started though, I wanted to mention that this is the first time I've created a Steem post with the @SteemPeak front end, and I have to say I really like it! I've been using it for commenting, voting and such since Steemit got taken over by Justin Sun's bot army buggy, and so far it's worked well. Over the coming weeks I'm planning to try other front ends too, like @esteemapp - there are so many awesomesauce apps on the blockchain, I figure why not give 'em a try!

Now without further ado, here are....

Least Favorite Movies

Nomination 1 - The Last Airbender


 

 
REASON

Oh man, I had such high hopes for this movie! The younger two kids & I watched the entire Avatar series on Nickelodeon at least once, and many episodes a bazillion times. Hubby watched the large majority of it too - only the eldest hadn't really seen it, but when we were picking a family movie night back in 2010, we all agreed it would be perfect. Perfectly awful was more like it - I'll spare you the details (especially since there are so many people online who've already covered it, but suffice to say the eldest was the only one who liked it. Poor thing had to listen to the rest of us rant about it on the long car ride home!

Nomination 2 - Land of the Lost

 

 
REASON

Yep, this was another family movie night gone horribly wrong. Since hubby and I grew up in the 60s & 70s, needless to say Sid & Marty Krofft were big faves of ours. While the trailer made it obvious they weren't planning to stick to the source material, the PG-13 rating didn't fully prepare us for how wildly inappropriate and gross certain scenes were. I do have to admit that now that some time has passed, and I've re-watched bits & pieces of it here and there, I can appreciate.... nah, honestly the fact that this movie even exists makes me want to hate Will Ferrell. However, lucky for Will I'm willing to forgive him, since he's also the reason why Buddy the Elf exists.

Nomination 3 - The Banana Splits Movie

 

 
REASON
Speaking of Sid & Marty, I can't believe they actually gave the green light to this horror adaptation of one of my ALL time favorite shows growing up. In fact, I couldn't even bring myself to look up the trailer for it - once was enough! I don't use this word often, but I truly hate that they messed with this beautiful bit of childhood innocence in such a nasty way. And I'm a big fan of horror movies generally, but this is horrible on an entirely different level.
 
 

There are my choices and I made the contest deadline with almost a whole half hour left!
