Yemen's Starvation Blamed On...

In a #propaganda piece which can only be labeled as plain sick, The Economist recently decided to blame Yemen's famine on the Yemenis' habit of chewing Qat.

The observation that the food shortages have anything to do with Saudi Arabia's ongoing assault on the country and the blockade of its seaports, is dismissed in the first paragraph. The Economist writes:

YEMEN is on the brink of famine, say aid agencies, which often blame the  civil war, Saudi Arabia’s blockade of northern seaports and its bombing  of vital infrastructure. The government’s refusal to pay salaries to  employees in rebel-held areas and the depreciation of Yemen’s riyal mean  many cannot afford the food that is available. But one of the biggest  causes of hunger often goes unmentioned: a leafy plant called qat.

What is left blatantly untold is that the blockade has been lifted on December 20 and that even two weeks in Yemen's main seaport of Hodeidah is empty of ships. Should SA as well as the West be serious of bringing in help to the starving Yeminis, two weeks is more than time enough to bring in essential goods.
