ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY!

A month or so ago, a dartboard appeared at work. This was in response to music that was being played at four hundred decibels with the outrageous excuse of, "It's boring!" not only does the mind boggle, but personally, I was stunned that anyone would be brave enough to say to their employer that they were bored and had nothing to do! If I'd known, I could find them plenty to do.

Much to my disappointment and, I have to say, annoyance, management allowed the dartboard to remain: "Other companies have games areas, Pete." yeah, but not because staff are saying they have nothing to do! Games rooms are, in reality, a reward for hard workers; they're not entertainment outlets for large portions of the working day.

I was on leave yesterday, so I don't know the full story of what went on, but this morning, I noticed a radio had appeared on one of the dart player's desk. This afternoon there was an internal email instructing the removal of said radio. My immediate thought was, "I thought the idea of a dartboard was because they couldn't have music?"

The moral of the story is:

Give em an inch, and they'll take a mile!
