New guitar model

I don't know exactly when it happened, but it seems like rock and more accurately metal is leading the demand for guitar innovation. I'm not saying there are no good blues players out there, or any other style you can think of, but they seem to stick with the classics.

With this in mind

My brother opened up Fusion 360 and modeled the very guitar you see on the picture, freshly carved out of a chunk of Cuban Cedar.

I love to use "bad wood" so to speak. Nots and imperfections to me make the instrument feel more real, but that's a personal preference and I'm sure there are reasons as to why I'm wrong.

As you can see it's bookmatched, so and of course the finish should just be natural for this one.

On other news

We finally got our DIY CNC up and running. Believe it or not, most of it's components are 3D printed, the "hardware" was bought at a big box store and it's pretty standard stuff.

I still have to make a small box to house the electronics, and yes, that's on the list of things to do today (as I'm writing this).
