Bear Scat, Gnomes, and Flowers

What do bear scat, gnomes, and flowers have in common? All three can be found on my sister's property in Montana. I took some photos while walking around her yard and along the paths through her woods.

Might as well get the bear poop picture over with first!!

The bear had been tearing apart this old stump to eat the resident ants. You can see the swarms of ants if you look closely. He didn't finish his meal!

Moving along to the gnomes: my sister has been accumulating them for years. Many have been gifts from friends and family.

Our older sister likes to make pottery mushrooms, so a few have sprouted up in the woods here.

Chicken decor is also popular at this house.

And now, the flowers! These allium are in her vegetable/flower garden.

The lilacs are well past their prime, but still smell heavenly.

Allegedly, the deer will not eat this variety of columbine. Time will tell.

Wildflowers include daisies and hawkweed, which is, alas, a noxious weed. The third flower in the photo is lupine, I think. A better photo of it follows.

This post needs a photo of a decorative cat, as a final touch.
