René was very adamant to beat out daughter to it before she decided to use the instant cake mix to make herself a bday cake.
Our daughter made her a sponge cake on Rene's birthday but fell into pieces when she followed the instructions to flip the cake.
That was our daughter's first unsupervised cake making.
So in return René decided to return her love by trying out herself another attempt with a YouTube video, only to find out it didn't work.
So before our daughter came back, she scrapped out last year frozen walnuts and whip up a walnut coffee cake that she knew.
We didn't decorate the cake, and we sang her the happy birthday song a day earlier as it was her day off and she had to work on her birthday, but the most important thing was, we were there for her to celebrate another year of life, as we wouldn't know what the future holds since we both will eventually need to go under the mercy of the operation theatre after covid-19 issue is overcome.
René already went through 3 major surgery, and she lived through psalm 23 and lived to tell us her journey.
I am still learning to overcome the feeling of helplessness and lean full on the Almighty.
Today, we feast on this successful product with our girl, then we will see what lies ahead.
