In the 21st century I don't understand how there are people who don't like to celebrate their birthdays, I can't understand it.

My birthday is an event that I plan for many months with anticipation, I even know that for this year I want to make a barbecue and there are still 3 MONTHS to go! I say something: if there is Mother's Day, Children's Day or New Year's Day and we celebrate it with effusion, more exciting must be the day that the universe aligned so that your light could be born and that day is unique for you because no two are the same, and unless you are another religion, birth is celebrated every year as a date that is yours until you die.

So, starting from this idea, I must confess that as a child I didn't have parties. Why? No idea, I assume my parents were too busy to be parents 🙃 So, since I work and have my independence, EVERY YEAR MY BIRTHDAY IS CELEBRATED! Whether it's with just a few people around me and a cake or with lots of friends at a big party, I always celebrate.

I like to prepare it in advance, to know what I am going to give out, to go shopping, to rent chairs, the candles, to call my cake girl, in short, I don't like to leave any detail that could damage the night or my celebration.

I love to celebrate that day from 12:00 a.m. until it is over because it is my 24 hours in the universe of a whole year that I am given and I don't like to lose them or throw them away.

In my country it is very common that you don't enjoy your birthday and I'll explain: people invite people so they spend the whole day in preparation: buying ice, organising the hall, at the hairdresser's, looking for clothes, then the scheduled time arrives and the hall is not ready, the birthday girl is still getting dressed, the music doesn't arrive on time, the party starts about two hours later than scheduled, in short, a complete disaster.

That's why I organise my birthday very well; I prepare everything early, I have everything bought beforehand, I get ready early and wait for my guests, I'm even ready before the scheduled time; in this sense, my parties are always a success!

The good thing about my country is that there is always a reason to celebrate, the bad thing is that most of my relatives are abroad. However, this has not prevented me from sharing their special days through video calls.

On that day, like a birthday in person, I still wake up early, prepare the cake and share, depending on the person, we get together with the closest people and sing birthdays.

Sometimes I am a bit intense in wanting someone to celebrate their birthday, but in the end we end up sharing a nice time, to show that person that they are special and celebrate their life.

An anecdote that happened to me recently, is that I have almost memorized all the dates of my friends and family, but for an unspecified reason because I can't explain it, July 8th came and I started to congratulate three friends because I swore it was their birthday and it turns out that they all have their birthdays in August! 🤣 And on the day of the real birthday I almost forgot to congratulate them. I had a little hint of Alzhaimer's! he,he,he,he.

This month I say it's the birthday of _my favourite people_ because it's the month where special people for me celebrate their anniversary of life and I take the opportunity to be with them near or far away.

So to conclude, I feel it is important to celebrate life, it generates wellbeing, we share with our loved ones and we spend a different day with joy, emotions and lots of love. I hope that you also have the joy of celebrating your birthday as the special day that it is.
