Along the Delaware Bay in Cape May County, New Jersey, there are quite a number of public beaches with very unique features. Higbee Beach is the biggest and most interesting beach along the Delaware that I've found so far.
Higbee Beach is the only beach in South Jersey that I know of which has nudists. It's legally not really a nude beach anymore, but according to what I've heard and read, nudity laws are not enforced there. It's mostly families there with kids, with a few naked people here and there. This post is safe for work!
The inland part of the park is mostly all open meadows with lots of trails going through forests wet and dry. In order to get to the sand dunes and the beach, you have to walk through trails in the woods. It's easy to get lost in the meadows because they all look similar. Once you can hear the water, it's easier to navigate. Many trails leading into the woods dead end.
The sand dunes are very wide. It's easy to get stuck in the dunes without knowing which way leads out. Just like the woods, many of the dune trails dead end. Unlike all the other Delaware Beaches I've been to, I didn't see any prickly pear cactus growing in the sand.
