Last night i left Bangkok city with a work colleague of my we drove all night to a province call Surat Thani in the south of Thailand were his parents live on a farm property we got to his parents farm early hours of the morning which was perfect timing for breakfast and coffee before the parents when out to work on the farm property.
His parents own about six acres of farmland and property so after breakfast we headed out the back of the house where he had his sweet potatoes plantation and was due for picking out of the ground ready to be taken to the markets to be sold.
The sweet potatoes are driven out of the down all manually with these little spade tool it's all by experience and feel that they know how deep and how near the sweet potatoes they are before driving it to the surface by not damaging the sweet potatoe just amazing they were and quick and fast with this technique.
Apart from growing there sweet potatoes they also had a few varieties of fruit trees and both these fruits i love the Mangosteen fruit which i knew grew on a tree like a apple tree...
But the Longkong fruit which is in the same family as Lychees and Rambutan and also as sweet as these two fruits were as the Lychee and the Rambutan fruit grow straight of the leafy branches the Longkong grows from the trunks of the tree in clusters hanging around the trunk of the tree this was a experience and amazing to see.
The other fruit they had growing on their farm was the Dragon Fruit when i was show the plant i thought no way that's just a Cactus plant with a lovely flowers blooming from this Cactus plant well i was wrong and again i was amazed because i never knew from what tree or how these Dragon fruits grew this was yet another learning for the day and what a beautiful flower for a fruit.
While the men were digging up the sweet potatoes the ladies were keeping themselves busy looking for and picking mushrooms you really got to keep your eyes pealed looking for these tiny little mushrooms there heads are barely sticking out of the ground.
They actually like what we call button mushrooms they are a heavy little mushroom full of vitamins and nutrients they are used a lot in varieties of spicy soups i love these little fellas in the Tom Yum Spicy soup with prawns. Well they certainly got a good amount they do sell some at the markets also a bit of extra cash.
After a good learning experience with these great people on this farm property it was time for us to leave we had a boat to catch to take us over to Koh Samui island from the mainland of Surat Thani.
When we arrived on the island of Koh Samui driving along we see all these people along the side of the road we thought must be a accident but it turned out to be these striped pigs were bring the traffic to a stand still well , i had to get in on the fun this again was another experience never have i seen striped pigs before...lol 😂
And this one wasn't camera shy 😂 😂
Striped piglets know as Mangalitza piglets or little chipmunk piglets are born with the stripes and i got to say they really are cute little piglets i was blown out seeing these striped piglets and they were so friendly why roaming around the side of a main road through the island no idea but i felt like picking one up and taking it home with me...lol 😂
I wanted to pick up this little baby piglet and give him or her a cuddle but he was to fast and even tripped over himself as he was running away...lol 😂
This one was camera shy and did the bolt into the bushes...
This made me laugh Mummy getting porked in the wrong hole 😂
Even this beautiful Emperor butterfly had to come and see what mummy was squealing about....
Enough amusement from theses little cute striped piglets another new fun adventure in life and it was time to get down to the beach for a cold beer and a relexlation after all that chasing around with them piglets.
One of the best days of experiences i have had for a long time and to top all that of a great sunsets over Koh Samui beach and the mountains. Hope you all had a adventurous day also. Take care you all 😊
