Women's World Cup: Mithali Raj becomes first batswoman to breach 6000-run mark in ODIs

Mithali Raj became the first batswoman to score 6000 runs in One-Day Internationals in the course of India's World Cup league game against Australia at Bristol.
The India captain, is now the leading run-scorer in women's cricket, having overtaken Charlotte Edwards of England.
Mithali broke the barrier in women's cricket because she happens to be the only Asian in the list of top-10 run-scorers.
The top-10 is dominated by women from England (3), Australia (3) and New Zealand. Stafanie Roxann Taylor is the only West Indian in the list.
The 34-year-old right hander has 6000 runs from 183 ODIs, with her highest being 114* against Ireland in Milton Keynes back in 26 June, 1999. She has five centuries to her name and averages over 50.44455ca7b3f247a1ef80e102abb2512c.png
