What if your ailment is caused by energy blockages?

You may or you may not know that there are 7 different chakras. Each one is located in a different place in your body. They also affect different parts of your body, organs and energy. If one of them is blocked you may be having problems in that area of your life and/or health issues.

We will start with the first chakra which is the root or base chakra. Muladhara is the Sanskrit name of this chakra and means root support. It is located at the base of the spine and the color associated with it is red. This chakra can affect kidneys and adrenal glands. It can alter your fear and passion. An imbalance here can make you insecure, resistant to the physical world, spaced out, fatigued, and fearful around survival. When your root chakra is balanced, you will feel grounded, motivated and comfortable in this material plane.

The second chakra or sacral chakra is known as Svadhisthana in Sanskrit, which means your own place. The color associated with this chakra is orange and it is located behind and a little below the navel. This rules over the feminine aspect of the kidneys and the reproduction organs. It influences joy and desire. An imbalance here can lower your immune system. It can take hold of your sexuality, creativity, possessiveness, jealousy and cause low self-esteem. When this is balanced, you will have high self-esteem, joy and pleasure and will have a healthy expression of creativity and sexuality.

Manipura is the third chakra or solar plexus. Manipura is Sanskrit for lustrous gem. This is located along the spine in the upper abdomen and the color associated with it is yellow. This governs the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen and stomach. Emotionally it can control anger and sense of purpose. An imbalance here will make you feel unsure of your role on earth, feel rejected and even go to extreme extroversion or introversion. Health wise it can cause ulcers and issues with any of the noted organs. Balance in this chakra will control and provide healthy digestion.

The next chakra is the heart chakra or fourth chakra. The Sanskrit is Anahata and means unhurt. Green is the color associated with it and it is located behind the physical heart. This chakra has an impact on the heart, lungs, and thymus gland physically and emotionally it controls love and joy. If you are feeling not accepting of love, having problems in relationships, or holding grudges you may have an imbalance in this chakra. The physical issues and imbalance here would be heart issues, lung issues and immune system imbalances. If you have a high ability to give and receive love, balance in relationships, compassion, feelings of harmony and peace and have a healthy immune system, then you probably have a balanced heart chakra.

The Throat chakra is called Vishudda in Sanskrit and means especially pure. Its color is blue and it is located near the larynx. This chakra regulates the larynx, thyroid, vocal chords and guides your expression. If you tend to speak from a programmed conditioning, or are overly talkative or non-communicative this could be an imbalance. Physically you could be suffering with some thyroid issues, metabolic or hormonal conditions or you could be coughing. Balancing this chakra can provide strong communication skills, you will express personal truth and will maintain a healthy weight.

The third eye chakra is the sixth chakra. It is indigo or purple in color and located between the eyebrows within the head. The Sanskrit word for it is Ajna and this means authority or command beyond wisdom. The third eye chakra is associated with fear and imagination and rules the pituitary gland. An imbalance here could cause poor vision, headaches, sleep issues, mental and hormonal issues physically, and emotionally it could cause close-mindedness and focusing only on the physical place. A person with a healthy third eye chakra will have good intuition, be creative, have the ability to manifest, have strong memory and balanced hormones.

Last but not least is Sahasrara which is Sanskrit for thousand-petaled. This is the crown chakra and is located close to the top of the brain. The color associated with this is violet or white. This controls the bliss and the pineal gland. If you seem to be limited in the connection with the divine or source and limited access to the body's inner wisdom you may be blocked in the crown chakra. This can also cause mental imbalances. When your crown chakra is balanced you might experience source externally and the source within. You will have a greater awareness and self realization.

If you are feeling any of these symptoms, and they are any physical issues please check with your doctor first. After your doctor has given you a clean bill of health, you may want to look into getting a reiki session to have your chakras realigned. It is important to take note and fill out a questionnaire on your physical and emotional issues that you may be having prior to your session and each session after that so you can determine if it helped or not. One of the other things you should do is eat light the day of and the next couple of days. Fruits and vegetables are best. It will help with the adjustment of energy to flow more freely through your body.
