By: See You In Viet Nam

Making a perfect cup of Vietnamese coffee is easy and enjoyable. It requires a metal filter called a PHIN, sweetened condensed milk, a grinder, a measuring cup, and medium roast Robusta coffee beans. To begin, bring water to a boil and grind the beans to a coarse grind, similar to sea salt. Preheat the filter and cup, then add the condensed milk and ground coffee. Shake the powder to level it out and make sure it is soaked in the hot water. After blooming for 30 seconds, start the second pour and cover the lid to keep the heat inside. Wait for 4 minutes for the coffee to finish dripping, then stir the condensed milk and add ice cubes if desired. Everyone has their own favorite taste, so the perfect cup of coffee is up to the individual to decide.
