Just last Saturday me and the family travelled up North in Malaysia to attend a wedding dinner; and on our way, to stretch our legs a bit, we decided to have a quick stop for lunch.

This has been recommended by a friend of mine to try out, while experiencing a huge uplift change for the small town of Bidor in the state of Perak, which is usually sidelined because of the North South Highway.

The basic presentation is the Wan Tan dry noodles (alkaline based eggy noodle), paired with sweet spiced roasted pork (Charsiew - non spicy), some wan tan and some side dish.

This has always been one of the staple foods in Malaysia particularly the Chinese community. We love the roasted pork.

Because my parents were once hawkers during the recession years in the 80s, one of my mom's specialty was marinated duck drumstick. When I saw this was part of the dish I must give it a try, with my mom's cooking benchmark in mind.

---

Not bad, it is as good as my mom's duck noodle.

Worth a swing by for a visit if the journey is not in a rush and because we were slightly off peak (almost 2pm) when we had this, the queue was bearable.

I usually don't post much, but this dish was good enough to be introduced to everyone
