VIMM 2.0 Prototype: Exploring Potential Features

Prototype Sandbox Testing 🧪

We're currently experimenting with a prototype (v0.0.96) that serves as a sandbox for testing potential features for VIMM 2.0. This early version allows us to explore ideas and gather insights that will shape the future of the platform.

Features We're Exploring:

1. Twitch to Hive Connection: Looking at ways to bridge Twitch and Hive for streamers.
2. Public Directory for Hive Streams: Experimenting with a centralized discovery hub for Hive-based streams.
3. Basic Channel Pages: Testing simple, dedicated spaces for streamers.
4. oAuth Flow: Developing a secure authentication process for seamless user experiences.
5. API Development: Creating robust APIs to make integration with other Hive front-ends more accessible.

Important Notes About This Prototype

• This is an experimental sandbox, not a finished product or significant milestone.
• The prototype lacks many features planned for the full VIMM 2.0.
• It runs on minimal infrastructure, unlike what the full platform would require.

Prototype vs. Full VIMM 2.0 Vision

You might wonder why we have a DHF proposal if we can create this prototype without funding. Here's why:

1. Limited Scope: This prototype only tests basic core features. The full VIMM 2.0 would include many more advanced features not present here.
2. Infrastructure: The current setup can't support a full-scale streaming platform. VIMM 2.0 would require robust infrastructure to handle high traffic and ensure quality streaming.
3. Development Resources: Full-time development is needed to build out all planned features and optimizations.
4. Scaling and Support: Growing the platform, marketing, and providing user support require resources beyond this basic prototype.
