Chùa Bửu Long, which is also referred to as Chùa Thái Lan - Thai Pagoda, is an international Buddhist temple built in 1942, and it is breathtaking.
The white temple against the blue fountain is even better in person.
The approach is absolutely impressive, but difficult to photograph.
And now I'm really missing my wide angle lens, salt water and cameras don't mix, but that's a different story.
The details are amazing, the closer you get the more you see.
Dragons protecting the temple, holding giant marbles in their mouths.
Arches, roofs, corner stones...
My favorite statute
Every door, every window, every opening is ornately carved.
A Buddha and his guardians.
This lion's canine teeth are long and not connected, usually on sculptures, the canine teeth are connected as if touching together - a bit like an hourglass, so that they are stronger and easier to carve.
This Buddha is the first you cab see walking up to the pagoda, but because of the lack of color, you may not even notice until you get right under him.
Most people smile like this for family photos.
Some places are not nearly as dangerous as they look, leave me a comment if you see what I mean, if you see I'll upvote a few of your posts as a reward.
This is the most intricately carved throne I have ever seen.
Another dragon, this one is looking out towards a bell tower
The fountain looks even better from above
The tropical vegetation is amazing.
Flowers for Buddha.
I don't know why, but this monk walking through the gateway just makes me feel so relaxed...peaceful really, I was lucky to be there at the right time.
Ahhh, the delicious scent of almond flowers... Take time to smell the flowers. It's one of your five senses and you need to engage them all to fully live.
Chùa Bửu Long
Unfortunately, there seem to be no buses going there, so Uber or Grab are your best bets if you don't have a motorbike or car, round trip for under $20 is possible but it might be more, don't have the taxi wait for you, just order another frthemhere it's fine. And even by motorbike you should expect it will be more than an hour, so plan your time, closing time is usually 6:00 PM.
