I feel like I'm improving in editing as well as recording videos after a week plus of going at it. I'm really happy with this latest video as I explore different angles recording and putting it all together in the final edit.
Really happy with the end result and looking forward to continue to improve in producing and making videos.
YouTube Journey DAY 10
So it's our mini milestone 10th day making and uploading videos on YouTube. I've heard someone say that, "Making videos on YouTube is a marathon not a sprint", and boy does it resonate when you're actually in it. You'll feel the pains of a marathon runner of mentality wanting to give up and yet you know you must go on to finish the race. That's what I'm facing and I MUST go on!
I watched a video on YouTube about the algorithm of YouTube on how videos appear on feeds and here are some things I've found out that you might be interested in:
- Likes to Video being released ratio
When a video is published, the first 20 minutes is when 'likes' count the most. It determines whether your video is a hit with viewers which gets it on the trending thread and on people's recommended.
- Viewing Duration
If you have a 30 minute video that 100 people watch through all 30 minutes compared with a video with 10,000 views but people only watch for 30 seconds, the 30 minute video that a hundred people watched will appear higher when 'searched'.
So far these are 2 things that I've found out about the YouTube algorithm on how your video is fairing on the site.
