Venice, my love.

Hello friends,

I was looking through my archives of photos from the past and decided to share some of them.

I went to university for five years to become an architect, worked for a couple of years, and decided to change my career for good up until now. I know it’s sad, sometimes I want to go back, but I’m afraid I forgot a lot of stuff, and whatever I knew is outdated by now.

I always, always wanted to visit Italy. Especially I really wanted to see Rome, Florence, and of course Venice. I saw their architecture in some books, on the TV, and I new it’s going to be AMAZING to be right there in person!

My boyfriend knew about my dream, and later when we got married he took me to these wonderful cities. My dream came true, I was taking photos of everything around, my eyes were so hungry for all the beauty around us.

Here I want to share a soft pastel drawing that I did recently. It was quite challenging because it was my first time using sand paper, but I liked how it turned out at the end.

It was so unusual to see that majority of the buildings were surrounded by water, it really looks outstanding. I don’t understand how did architectures do it many years ago?

Famous Russian writer, Alexander Herzen said: “To build a city where it is impossible to build a city is madness in itself, but to build there one of the most elegant and grandest of cities is the madness of genius.” You can’t disagree with it.
