Here is my entry for the #veganburgercontest hosted by @deliciousplants. πŸ”

You can regard my entry as an introduction into vegan burger making for absolute newbies. πŸ’ͺπŸ˜€

So don't expect a fancy burger recipe. I tried to keep this recipe as quick and easy as possible.
I don't want those new and interested in vegan food to be overwhelmed with too complex procedures. It should be really easy to recreate. This is also the reason why I do it in a very detailed step-by-step way. Remember, small steps matter! 😝😜

So which ingredients do you need?

Ingredients

  • 1 burger bun with sesame (wholewheat definitely preferable - unfortunately I didn't get one! 😒)
  • soy cream (e.g. Alpro soya cuisine)
  • ketchup and mustard
  • pickled cucumbers
  • smoked tofu
  • 3 slices of zucchini
  • spices: pepper, salt, cumin, chilli
  • 1 tomato
  • fresh arugula

Procedure

Step 1: Cut the burger bun into half.

Step 2: Place some ketchup, mustard and soy cream onto the bun. Choose quantity according to your preferences. 😜

Step 3: To add some taste, add some shredded pickled cucumbers onto it.

Step 4: Take a pan, and fry some tofu and some zucchini slices! You don't have to use oil - you can use vegetable broth instead. This is especially easy if you have a nonsticky pan. It is also good to heat up the pan before inserting the tofu and the zucchini. Add the spices (pepper, salt, cumin, chilli) while frying it. Stop, when the tofu is golden brown. Add the tofu and the zucchini to the burger bun.

Step 5: Add some ketchup and soy sauce accoring to your liking.

Step 6: For some extra magic, add some fresh arugula leaves.

Step 7: Take the second half of the burger ban, and place it on top of the first half.

There you have it, your first super easy and quick vegan burger. πŸ”
