Coalition of Firefighters and Police Fight Back Against Vaccine Mandates in Oregon

In Oregon a coalition of firefighters and police officers have decided to fight back against recently imposed vaccine mandates. A group has already assembled a lawsuit against Gov. K. Brown and they are looking to fight for their rights against the threat of losing their job if they don't get the vaccine.

For many the mandates mean that they would effectively destroy their careers, have to start over, or might not ever find suitable employment again compared to what they have now if they aren't willing to get vaccinated as per the rules.

Division Tactics

Using measures that have been employed over the past year to try and keep people safe, such as distancing, taking temperatures, using masks etc, many don't understand why they simply cannot have the freedom to choose right now. They want the freedom to have personal choice on their medical decisions and not have the state decide for them.

Those employers that look to impose those sorts of rules on employees as far as mandates go might also be facing litigation in response to it. It's a risk that some have already proven they are willing to take.

The media has done a fine job at repeatedly trying to bring down those who speak out against mandates, they are critical to the division we are seeing these days between those on either side of the argument. There have been many who have taken to the streets and protested for the freedom of others in their personal choice to vaccinate or not, including professionals like nurses, firefighters, police officers, and even those who are vaccinated who don't want to see the deterioration of the rights of their fellow citizens.

The vaccines were appealing enough to billions that they didn't need to be forced to take it, many are willing to line-up to get it at the first chance. But there has been a lot of threatening and bullying of those who want to remain skeptical, go without, and maintain that choice for themselves. That sort of response to personal choice is disgusting to see as it gets spewed from mainstream news and government representatives regularly, but it of course is never surprising.

All those who aren't vaccinated are not 'anti-vax' and there are multiple reasons why someone might not get vaccinated.

One can respect and understand the importance of vaccinations while also grasping the consent of someone in wanting to make their own choice on getting it or not, especially when you wonder who might be held liable if anything were to go wrong with that vaccination.

It's clear that many people around the world are not comfortable with their rights being taken in this manner, not just in Oregon. You can see protests have taken place in France, Germany, Italy, Canada, the U.S., and other countries. The WHO has also recently suggested that COVID-19 might continually mutate like the flu and might always be with us and that fuels even more concern for those who are worried about signing up to a system of force in that regard, requiring endless booster shots and who knows what else down the road, in order to maintain their job or way of life.
