Does trading one puppet for another really make sense, or is it just a temporary feel good illusion to get us through another election cycle as the country continues a downward slide towards collapse?
Imo Trump gave no indication he understood the economy and the underlying forces that rigged and control it through lobbied legislation for their own benefit over the past century. Ultimately that all comes at the expense of the general public which is the true substance of this country, and for whose benefit is the only legitimate reason the US government is supposed to exist.
Like most everyone in the West, Trump himself was and is a lifetime victim of establishment propaganda while the US has been increasingly ruled by censorship and lies over the last century or longer, which many fully embraced as long as they believed it beneficial to themselves while the general public has been fooled more times than not.
The “system” with our governing process and institutions, including the free press illusion, has been so corrupt for so long the path of least resistance to personal wealth and limited power among would be politicians or those entering the “news industry,” is to serve the corrupt system as it exists. As we’ve seen in recent decades any person or group that challenges the establishment’s lies and distortions, gets attacked by both political parties and the media. We saw that with Trump and Russiagate which was over 90% fake news but successfully kept Trump on the defensive instead of advancing his own agenda that seemed to lack real understanding and conviction as his proposed remedies were addressing symptoms and not the underlying problems themselves.
Trump was in many ways the consummate opportunist - in it for his own sake and bowing to the behind the scenes power when it served his interests. It’s hard to say what kind of dirt they had on him or if he accepted all along his part as controlled opposition to the establishment. In a pragmatic sense it’s not important what his intentions were at this point while we know the country is further in hole and has been steadily moving in that direction since the 1970’s. The true power today is the behind the scenes financial interests that control both political parties and the propaganda media sufficiently to keep the public misinformed and confused while arguing over what the truth is on any major issue (if they don’t distract us altogether) - while the establishment continues exploiting all factions of the US and world’s public as a matter of business as usual. Trump was not his own man. His principles and understanding of reality were both compromised and distorted because of his own ambitions. Rather than do what was best for the public as a matter of moral principle and duty, he consistently took one step forwards and two or three back.
Manipulative lies rule the US public and this country. If people can’t see through the lies, we’ll most likely continue being exploited by the behind the scenes ruling elites and their well rewarded politician and media puppets.
