So I finally got around to watching the first episode of the show Dark, and I have to say, I was hooked from the very beginning. This show is intense, mysterious, and full of twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very end.
The first episode sets the stage for the rest of the series, introducing us to the small town of Winden, where strange things start happening right from the start. The disappearance of a young boy named Mikkel sets off a chain of events that will change the lives of everyone in the town forever.
One of the things that I loved about this episode is the way that it introduces us to the different characters and their relationships with one another. We meet Mikkel's family, including his brother Jonas, who is struggling with the loss of his brother, and his father, who is trying to cope with the disappearance in his own way. We also meet the police chief, who is tasked with investigating the case, and the local priest, who seems to know more than he is letting on.
As the episode progresses, we start to see that there is more to the story than just a missing boy. There are strange symbols and messages appearing all over the town, and a sense of foreboding that something terrible is about to happen. And when the police chief discovers a hidden bunker beneath the local power plant, it becomes clear that there is a much deeper mystery at play.
One of the things that really stood out to me about this episode is the cinematography. The show is shot in a very dark, moody style that really adds to the sense of unease and mystery. And the use of time-lapse photography and other visual effects is really effective in creating a sense of disorientation and unease.
Overall, I thought the first episode of Dark was a really strong start to the series. It sets the stage for what promises to be a gripping and intriguing story, and I can't wait to see where it goes from here. If you're a fan of shows like Stranger Things or The X-Files, I definitely recommend giving Dark a try. I promise, you won't be disappointed.
