So I have been told I'm addicted to my cacti collection. Maybe so, but the way i see it is slightly different. Its a investment on its own... Providing nothing goes wrong, and dont get me wrong. There's a few like environmental stress, theft, neglect need i say more. Wait perhaps you just a masculine junkie.
But all jokes aside some rare cacti are really worth a few decent amount of penny's. Like the Lophophora williamsii for example or more commonly known as the "Peyote" is a small slow growing cacti what can up in value the older it is.Its shape and size is variable, some with circular shapes reaching up to 20 centimetres in diameter. There are other shapes that are similar to a carrot or a turnip, but without leaves or branches.
So what i believe is go all out go all guns out blazing, wheel and deal and build your collection. Look for those cheap deals. hold on for them for a few years. Flower them, graph them, get seeds. I mean this is more fun than baseball cards isn't it?
And who knows they might just be a Trichocereus investment and if all fails. Well there are always other ways to reap the benefits of some!
