Conscious Music you have (probably never) heard of | #71 | Beats Antique - Collide

An old, dusty carpet blended with a thick-layer beat machine and modern sampling techniques - Their music sounds exactly like you think it does without ever having heard anything like it!

A monumentally popular tribal-fusion-jazz-world-timetravel-music project in North American EDM circles, yet still "relatively" unknown in Europe, Beats Antique are really one of a kind.

It's like a walk through a strange jazzy tribal village where people have somehow gotten hold of modern samplers and beat machines but are wearing old hats and even steampunk apparel from centuries ago, a place where youtube tutorials have mysteriously been exploited to the fullest but the music instruments themselves have never audibly developed past the mid 1800's.

Beats Antique sounds something like that and like much, much more- you tell me what on Earth this is ;)

It's a mix of styles that not many people I have heard have attempted and it comes out like a true wow-moment the first time you hear it - a mighty dose of virtuosity and an attitude that is often missing in today's music: courage.

I have long hesitated to include Beats Antique in this list, both because I have not been keeping up with their newer material (though I really ought to) and because they are so well-known in the US. However, this series is made for people from all parts on Earth and so, if there's even a slim chance that Beats Antique are new to you you owe yourself a first impression.

I still marvel at their ability to port possible & barely imaginable music from the non-physical mind-dimension into actuality for our ears to pick up on. It's just such an achievement and a mighty inspiration for artists of all sorts wanting to find their own way in an age where original music has become somewhat of a rarity, despite all the styles we have today.
