I would like to welcome everyone to another day of #botanicalgardentours . Today I want to show to you the Aloe Ferox, also known as the Bitter Aloe.
Ich möchte euch alle herzlich auf einen weiteren Tag mit den #botanicalgardentours einladen. Heute möchte ich euch die Aloe Ferox vorstellen, die auch als Kap-Aloe bekannt ist.
The Aloe Ferox is native in South Africa. Contrary to other palm trees this one can only get up to 3 m high, which is even smaller that the dwarf palm can get. It is a single stem palm and posesses huge thick and fleshy palm leaves that can weight up to 2 Kg. The Aloe Ferox is one of the various sorces of the aloe gel that is commonly used in cosmetics all over the world. Unfortunately I do not have a picture, but the Aloe Ferox can have a beautiful red fruit on top that is about to 1 m long. There is a very similiar palm trees to this that are called Aloe Excelsa and Aloe Africana that are also native to Africa. This is definitly my favorite palm of all ;) .. here is a link to some more nice Aloe if you are interested :

Die Aloe Ferox stammt aus Südafrika. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Palmen kann diese nur bis zu 3 m hoch werden, was noch kleiner ist als die Zwergpalme. Sie hat nu einen einzelnen und besitzt riesige, dicke und fleischige Palmblätter, die bis zu 2 kg wiegen können. Die Aloe Ferox ist eine der verschiedenen Quellen des Aloe-Gels, das in Kosmetik auf der ganzen Welt verbreitet ist. Leider habe ich kein Bild, aber die Aloe Ferox kann eine schöne rote Frucht haben, die ungefähr 1 m lang ist. Es gibt sehr ähnliche Palmen, die Aloe Excelsa und Aloe Africana heißen und auch in Afrika beheimatet sind. Diese Palme ist definitiv meine Lieblingspalme ;) ..
