There are so many temples in Thailand, as I already presented some of them in my several posts. Most Thai people are Buddhist, we go to temples to make merit and to worship the Buddha statues. We can say that temples are heart-gathering for us.
In addition to the above reasons, we love to admire the beautiful architecture of the buildings. If you visit Thai temples, you will also learn Thai cultures and local arts via these things as well.
Wat Nantaram is one of the good examples of beautiful temples in Thailand. It’s situated in Phayao province in the northern part. It’s interesting that the main building or Viharn has a unique architecture in Tai Yai style and the whole building was made of teak wood which is one of the rare and expensive wood types. The roofs have different levels with beautiful designs.
(You may notice the giant Naga with the bright red head and green body on the stair of the Viharn in the first photo.)
Inside the building, there are magnificent Buddha statues with red clothes on each body. I think these make the Buddha statues look more outstanding.
The following white little building is beautiful with magnificent roofs.
And the white chedi or pagoda is huge and wonderful with amazing shape and beautiful design.
I think you will surely spend happy and relaxing times in this temple. It's worth a visit indeed. ;)
