My Semester Abroad- Bishop's University, Montreal

On paper BU is a regular university.
When I was selecting my exchange program at QUT I was rejected from my first 2 choices (lol, thanks guys), so QUT called me and said we have 2 vacant spots, one at Bishop’s University and one somewhere else…I cant even remember what the second school was. As the lady called me I was literally walking out the door about to jump in the car with my 4 friends to head to the beach. As my friends tooted the horn, flustered and still half asleep from my afternoon nap I chose Bishop’s, jumped in the car and didn't think much of it.

Little did I know that it would be quite literally one of the best decisions of my lil life.

The semester was ridiculous. Being exchange students we had pass or fail results, so we literally had to get 51% to pass each subject and it would be weighted the same as getting 100%…. So class was, some what, optional….. We went out every other night in the -20 degree weather. This TINY city in Quebec called Lennoxville, offered only three venues: The Gait- the on campus bar/pub/club, The Lion- the Lennoxville pub and finally Mullies: the grimiest (but loveable) club which offered $2 fireball shots. We spent majority of our time drinking beer or eating chicken ranch pizza/ garlic sticks in Dewies Food Hall.
Dewies was life, and life was dewies. It was an all you can eat buffet that was open all day. It gave me mad food poisoning one time, but I could never speak ill of such a holy place. My record time in Dewies was 7 hours without leaving :) #blessup

Spring break was insane. We hired a car and had Tramel’s car also, so 10 of us road tripped down the east of Canada. We hit Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. It was a bloody good time, filled with boos, gas station merchandise and chicken nuggets. We drove through a national park with so many classic Canadian animals coming through the windows licking our hands and faces. It was both terrifying and amazing. So many personal jokes sprung from that trip. I made a video about the experience here:

As well as the beautiful international crew we formed, I met so many amazing Canadian and American friends too!
Bishop's allowed me to meet some of my best friends who I have travelled countless countries with, on this delightful adventure. Raise a toast!

This tiny post doesn’t even scratch the surface of all the adventures, pranks and nights out we had. I may write another post about some of the mischief we got up to.

So much loooove for BU it hurts, but the mems and merch I have will stay with me forever. Thanks for such a rad time, to everyone involved, it was honestly one of the best experieces of my life.

Chin chin!
