Travel Diary: Best Of - Barcelona (Pt.1)

Dear Steemians,

as you know I'm currently in Barcelona on a workation and every day is really unique and exciting. The new impression and adventures don't seem to stop, but for now I want to take you on the trip and give you an overview on what we've been up to in the last couple of days and share some of my favorite moments:

(Pt.1: The Hotel (View); The Mountain, The Sun)

Gran Hotel La Florida

First I have to talk about the amazing hotel we stayed in and came back to three times in two weeks. There is a lot to say about it...

from the view (the best part),

Day

Night

I usually don't like rain, but I could get used to the warm rain and the fresh air is the best.

Even though it's warmer in the city, on the mountain the clean air makes up for it.

..to the interior, which was a modern type mediterranean style..

..to the rooms that were quite unique and each beautiful on their own. While one had a huge balcony, the other suite was as large as an apartment with beautiful details..

..to the pool..

..to the smell..

(The Hotel has a partnership with L'Occitane, which makes the hotel smell like heaven for a cotton & perfume freak like me)

everything was so peaceful and it truly felt like heaven "above the mountains"

TIBIDABO Mountain

The mountain itself was simply stunning and due to some powers, coincidence or whatever you may call it, we just discovered on the last day what kind of special mountain we were on and that a 5 min walk would have let us to the famous spot of Barcelona on the very top, right next to the beautiful Sagrat Cor church.

We actually didn't discover it by ourselves, but found a visitor from London and he told us we had to go to the top.. I was a little exhausted walking up the hill with a lot to carry, but the view was worth it!

(Little did we know.. we ended up at a must-visit spot for tourists, just around the corner of our hotel)

Designed by Enric Sagnier, the church took 60 years to construct and is topped by a sculpture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus by Josep Mirett Llopart.

Tibidabo is a mountain overlooking Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. At 512 metres (1,680 ft), it is the tallest mountain in the Serra de Collserola. Rising sharply to the north-west, it affords spectacular views over the city and the surrounding coastline.

The Sun

One of the things I enjoy most here! The sunrise, sun during the day, and sunset are just incredible. You feel better, look better and lot more energetic when you go with the sun...

Unreleased Sunset Footage

Part 2 is coming soon! I have so much footage to share, but don't want to waste it in a long post that makes you not want to read the blogpost at all. So I hope you enjoyed, and understand why I separate my posts sometimes.

Much love,

- Mrs.Steemit
