Las Puertas de Miraflores, Monagas-Venezuela

The Puertas de Miraflores are limestone walls of 150m high, located in the Miraflores sector of the Monagas State. It has routes for Rock Climbing that are among the highest in the country, with difficulties between 5.7 to 5.13c and are considered among the best climbing walls in South America.

The Puertas de Miraflores are an excellent walk that I recommend to go hiking, observe nature and take a good river bath (the water is very cold), since you can access them by a path in the middle of a lush forest with several steps of river (five to be specific).

The Guarapiche river between the rock walls forms a beautiful canyon where there is a pool of crystalline water, ideal for a good bath.

The route is approx. 1 and 1/2 hours on foot, round trip. I recommend bringing swimwear, towels and shoes that can be submerged in the water, as well as some snacks for the road.

At the beginning of the trail is the smallest river in the world; They call it the "Mapurite" river, it was born from a large spring and flows into the Guarapiche River a few meters away. In spite of the economic difficulties that we are going through in Venezuela, these publications of its beautiful landscapes is a balm to soften a little this difficult situation. VEVEZUELA a piece of heaven on earth.
