The tourist boom in Turkey began around the 90s, the comrades thirsty for all-inclusive drinks and beach vacations also wanted some kind of cultural program. And the Turks are very experienced people in terms of business and trade, trade is in their blood, it is a national sport, and therefore the legends of Cleopatras, antiquity of all sorts, therapeutic mud pools and other local “Viagra” fell like a cornucopia. If there is demand, there will always be supply! You will agree that it is more pleasant for us to relax or go on an excursion to some place with a loud name and a beautiful history than to hang around in a dull village with an unpronounceable Turkish name, where there is nothing but the sea and the road in front of it.
The beach in Alanya is called the Cleopatra beach. Remember the ancient Egyptian queen Cleopatra? The one that is pretty, and a little more Elizabeth Taylor. By the way, for the role of Cleopatra in the 1963 film, Elizabeth Taylor received a fantastic fee of a million dollars and became the first actress to conquer this height. As you know, fate threw Mark Antony and Cleopatra into each other's arms. Mark Antony was not a poor man and often indulged the Egyptian queen Cleopatra with expensive gifts. Now Crete will give her, then Cyprus. Here the girls exhaled - what a man!
And it so happened that the lovers spent their "honeymoon" on the beach of Alanya and everything would be fine, but the sand on the beach was so-so, in the most vile way it burned the queen's legs. And Mark Antony with a generous gesture presented the queen with a beach with white, delicate sand, so that Cleopatra would not burn her feet when entering the waters of the sea. Well, and according to my mood, this fine sand could be used as a scrub. The sand was specially brought by ships from Egypt. Hundreds of ships with sand! These numerous tons of sand were poured onto the shore and at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. This is how Cleopatra's beach appeared, one of the most, if not the most popular beach in Turkey. Another version of the events of those early years in the spirit of modern times, with a touch of feminism. Cleopatra herself ordered to bring sand to the beach from her native Egypt, because what to take from these men? What do they understand about comfort? They just need to drink beer and stare at the girls!
So now you are not just lying like a seal on an ordinary Turkish beach, but as if you are getting involved in ancient history. Why are you worse than Queen Cleopatra? Queens do not rest on bad beaches!
In fact, alas, all this is just a beautiful fairy tale for tourists, in which the truth is only that the sand was really brought from Egypt. Do you believe this? Sand to Cleopatra's beach every year before the season is brought from Turkish quarries, and part of the sand is brought from one of the Turkish rivers, this is river sand. The sand is beautiful, but has nothing to do with Cleopatra. And Cleopatra herself is a controversial figure, it was a long time ago, maybe there was no Cleopatra at all, history is famous for its ... uh ... jokes and surprises.
But back in the 80s there was no beautiful beach with soft sand. Only clay and a nondescript little cave from which they later made a super-fashionable Damlatush (Damlatash) cave for tourists. By the way, the cave is so-so. If you have been to large and beautiful caves, then you don't have to go here, the cave is small.
And Mark Antony and Cleopatra, judging by historical facts, could meet only in the city of Tarsus, where there is even Cleopatra's gate. By the way, it was in Tarsus that the Apostle Paul was born. And this city is located about 400 kilometers from Alanya. Once upon a time, the kings and queens were not very keen on tourism.
World tourism began to develop only at the beginning of the last century. If that sand had really been brought for Cleopatra, it would have been washed away by the waves into the sea long ago. But a beautiful legend, isn't it? Very beautiful! In this regard, the Turks are great! They are good at presenting and selling history! The beach is not bad, and Cleopatra was there or not, but who cares? Let's go swimming!

Und nun ein paar Mythen und Legenden aus der Antike. Den Kleopatra-Pool in Pamukkale haben wir schon einmal besucht, jetzt reden wir über den Strand, der den Namen der Königin des alten Ägypten trägt. Dass Kleopatras Pool übrigens nichts mit Kleopatra selbst zu tun hat, nur ein lauter Name, um Touristen anzulocken. Der Touristenboom in der Türkei begann um die 90er Jahre, und die Genossen, durstig nach All-Inclusive-Getränken und Strandurlaub, wollten auch eine Art kulturelles Programm. Und die Türken sind sehr erfahrene Menschen in Bezug auf Wirtschaft und Handel, der Handel liegt ihnen im Blut, es ist ein Nationalsport, und daher fielen die Legenden von Kleopatra, Antike aller Art, Heilschlammbecken und andere lokale „Viagra“ wie ein Füllhorn. Wenn es Nachfrage gibt, wird es immer Angebot geben! Sie werden mir zustimmen, dass es für uns angenehmer ist, uns zu entspannen oder einen Ausflug zu einem Ort mit einem lauten Namen und einer schönen Geschichte zu unternehmen, als in einem langweiligen Dorf mit einem unaussprechlichen türkischen Namen herumzuhängen, wo es nur das Meer und die Straße davor.
Der Strand in Alanya wird Kleopatrastrand genannt. Erinnern Sie sich an die altägyptische Königin Kleopatra? Diejenige, die hübsch ist, und ein bisschen mehr Elizabeth Taylor. Eine andere Version der Ereignisse dieser frühen Jahre im Geiste der Neuzeit, mit einem Hauch von Feminismus. Kleopatra selbst befahl, Sand aus ihrer Heimat Ägypten an den Strand zu bringen, denn was sollte man von diesen Männern mitnehmen? Was verstehen sie unter Komfort? Sie müssen nur Bier trinken und die Mädchen anstarren!
Jetzt liegen Sie also nicht nur wie eine Robbe an einem gewöhnlichen türkischen Strand, sondern als würden Sie sich in die antike Geschichte einmischen. Warum bist du schlimmer als Königin Kleopatra? Königinnen ruhen sich nicht an schlechten Stränden aus!
Tatsächlich ist dies alles nur ein schönes Märchen für Touristen, in dem die Wahrheit nur ist, dass der Sand wirklich aus Ägypten gebracht wurde. Glaubst du das? Sand wird jedes Jahr vor der Saison aus türkischen Steinbrüchen an Kleopatras Strand gebracht, und ein Teil des Sandes wird aus einem der türkischen Flüsse gebracht, das ist Flusssand. Der Sand ist wunderschön, hat aber nichts mit Kleopatra zu tun. Und Kleopatra selbst ist eine umstrittene Figur, es ist lange her, vielleicht gab es überhaupt keine Kleopatra, die Geschichte ist berühmt für ihre ... äh ... Witze und Überraschungen. Aber in den 80er Jahren gab es keinen schönen Strand mit weichem Sand. Nur Lehm und eine unscheinbare kleine Höhle, aus der später eine supermodische Damlatush (Damlatash)-Höhle für Touristen gemacht wurde. Die Höhle ist übrigens so lala. Wenn Sie in großen und schönen Höhlen waren, müssen Sie nicht hierher gehen, die Höhle ist klein.
Und Markus Antonius und Kleopatra konnten sich nach historischen Fakten nur in der Stadt Tarsus treffen, wo sich sogar Kleopatras Tor befindet. In Tarsus wurde übrigens der Apostel Paulus geboren. Und diese Stadt liegt etwa 400 Kilometer von Alanya entfernt. Früher waren die Könige und Königinnen nicht sehr vom Tourismus begeistert.
Der Welttourismus begann sich erst zu Beginn des letzten Jahrhunderts zu entwickeln. Wenn dieser Sand wirklich Kleopatra gebracht worden wäre, wäre er längst von den Wellen ins Meer gespült worden. Aber eine schöne Legende, nicht wahr? Sehr schön! In dieser Hinsicht sind die Türken großartig! Sie sind gut darin, Geschichte zu präsentieren und zu verkaufen! Der Strand ist nicht schlecht, und Kleopatra war da oder nicht, aber wen interessiert das? Lass uns mal schwimmen gehen!
