So, I recently posted about how I will be going on a trip to New Orleans over Labor Day weekend. In my effort to post more often, I figured I could share some of my methods in planning for this trip.
So, I will be flying in Friday evening, August 31st and leaving on Tuesday, September 4th. This means three full days, and a half-day each on the travel days. So, approximately four days of stuff. I guess the best method to figure out what is needed for this would be to make a check-list. I will get to that in a moment. First, what bags am I going to take this stuff in. I am going carry-on only, because paying for a checked bag is just silly for four days. This means one carry-on bag and one 'personal item'. For the carry-on, I am going to use my trusty Maxpedition Falcon II (Red). It's super durable and should easily fit everything and still be small enough for carry-on.
I will then have my messenger bag for the on-flight stuff and to help me get the most storage I can for the trip. Somewhere in one of those I will be putting my TSA required '1 Quart zip-close plastic bag' for my liquid/gel items. The rules for that are strange, but easy enough to accommodate.
What I plan to carry in the main bag:

Put simply, Uber. I should be able to share Uber rides with the rest of my companions for most things, but I will probably have to manage my own travel from the airport into town. Not really an issue, I have the app on my phone, and I will be able to justify the cost at least once.
Not really, a great deal of the actual activity ideas and what we do with our time will be decided on the spot. Some of the best trips aren't over-planned.
Please comment below with anything you think might be worth adding, or if I am missing some part of the planning?
Thanks!
