Announcing the First Project @thunderwhale! Hackathon Version 1.0

Location: Phoenix, AZ, USA

Dates: Saturday/Sunday 8/9 October 2016

Host: Bryan Gmyrek

Participants: Bryan + Special Guest

Prizes: STEEM DOLLAR earnings from this post and the STEEM/STEEM DOLLARS donated to the @thunderwhale account

Goal: Develop a simple proof of concept app which can auto-upvote

One of the key things that we need to make Project @thunderwhale! and similar projects happen is a cross-platform mobile (or desktop) app which is able to auto upvote posts. The main goal of this hackathon is to prove that we can do this. This will NOT be a full implementation of the Project @thunderwhale! idea, it'll simply be able to auto upvote.

Special Guest

I don't want to out this guy or scare him away because he's not on steemit (yet).
But let's just say he's one of the best developers I've ever met, a long time Bitcoin and blockchain fan, and he's written cross platform apps and Bitcoin/blockchain apps before.

Let's show this special guest how supportive the steemit community can be!

How Can I Help?

You can help by upvoting, resteeming, sharing, and if you would like/can afford it, making a donation to the @thunderwhale account. The STEEM DOLLARS from this post and the STEEM/STEEM DOLLARS in the @thunderwhale account will be used as rewards for successful completion of the hack.

Abstract
We propose a decentralized voting pool system which automates the process of pooling votes. The votes are cast by an app which all users of the pool install on their device. To receive a vote from the pool, a post must be from a pool member and it must have a quorum of votes by current pool members. Users are not required to share their posting key with a trusted third party.
