Three Tune Tuesday - Coming out the Storm

source

Although it is not Tuesday yet, my mind has been struggling and wandering lately. It has been crowded both in my personal and professional life. I think these are the consequences of my previous decisions, and there's no one to blame. However, it can be hard at times, especially when you perceive you are stuck in a conflictual situation and you don't see any white flag in between.

The first thing that came to my mind is from one of my favourite bands, "The National," and it is called: "Think you can wait."

The National - Think you can wait

It is also used in the soundtrack of Win Win movie and the song becomes even more explanatory there. It basically talks about the idea of struggling to do things better and still not being enough for what other people seem to demand from you. I guess things just don't mix sometimes and people are what they are and accepting that could ease a lot of pain and struggling.

The next song is related to my working experiences lately. Aside from some financial operations that seem to be hampered by the system and a guy who owes me a lot of money and which I am not sure I will get back, I had a client who was extremely demanding and asking more things than agreed at the beginning. I have worked a lot for him until I said ''Fuck it, I won't do anything more for this job''. So, I didn't respond anymore to his demands on our final steps of the project. The idea is that I believed I had completed the necessary work while my client continued to press me to do more. So, the result was a dispute and a request for a refund.

Lykke Li - I'm Good, I'm Gone

I think sometimes it is better to acknowledge your limits and say STOP instead of going forward in a situation that sucks everything from you.

Finally, I will end my trial with Katie Melua's ''Wonderful Life'':

Katie Melua - WonderfulLife

I think we should all enjoy a wonderful life. No matter the struggles, there's always a bright side. It usually happens that while we are in a situation, it is quite difficult to find a solution, but after all, we do realise that we are stronger than we thought.

So, there is no more need to run or hide, as Katie Melua says in this song, but to live your life as it is and as you are. I think this is a very important thing in someone's life: to be truly seen, to be accepted and understood. It is very hard to keep relationships with people who don't see you for who you are, and they might even think that you are tricking them because they didn't expect that things are not always as they want to portray. We all have our own vision of life, which might be very different from other people's.

Thank you for reading my post. I hope you enjoy the songs and have a great end of the week and a fulfilling life ahead!

And a little gift for your, some inspiring quote:
